Wapakoneta, OH - Aug 4, 2010

We stayed here and ate here. Pretty good food and VERY reasonable. When we pulled in here, we didn't know exactly where we were.

Morning ritual---open blinds and see what we see.

We decided to go and see Neil Armstrong's Air and Space Museum. It was a very wise choice and they were open!!!! Get a load of this X-15 plane. The pilot was on the threshold of space when he flew this aircraft. It went 60 miles into space.

What a wonderful arrangement was in this building.

A painting of the home Neil Armstrong was born in.

All participants in Apollo 11 signed this.

An actual module.

This was the actual suit worn by Armstrong in the module.

The flag that was aboard Apollo 11. Not the one planted, obviously.

The backup suit for the space flight.
We walked on a catwalk through this into a theater to see a movie.

On the grounds outside.

Then we started our usual town tour. I mean to tell you, we could have 500 pictures here. There are SO many gorgeous houses. I only chose my favorites. Here is downtown Wapakoneta.

The old with the new.

Got the tops---George took this one.

Neat looking Court House.
Yay, Janet got the tops!!

Sami, this one is for you. It's almost like your teacup house.

The widow's walk cresting from the house. 1868-1945

I'm thinkin' that this guy lived here at one time.

Look what I found, Connie.

Just SOME of the homes.

Just had to show you the front----

And back.

A memorial for Disabled Americans Veterans.

Haven't seen one of these covered outside stairs in years. This is a really big house.

Train station in Wapakoneta. Train was going past.

Mmm mmm good. One of my favorite lunch places.

Then we drove to the town of St Mary's to check out THEIR homes. Didn't find nearly as many interesting ones.
Still working.
On the side of one of the buildings.

I did it again. (she says as she buffs her nails!!)

We stopped in the mayor's spot to get this picture.

Just like this setting.

Oh yeah, once again.

Do you remember these tv towers?

After a very full day, we also had a horrible storm. Thank you for watching over us.
