Day Four - Bellevue, NE - Offutt AFB

We had pulled off the road and while I was waiting, I thought maybe I was on the moon or something.

Kansas City, MO

Kansas City has its share of construction too.

Look at this farout bridge.

After dinner, we decided to check out the base and were very impressed by this cemetery.

We had no idea where we were and up jumps Strategic Air Command.

That ain't all...we rounded another corner and lo and behold there was Air Force One on the runway with the engines turning.

Our poor GPS had an awful time while we were on the base. It kept telling us there were too many railroads around us. We had to figure out how to get off the base, all by ourselves. Finally, we got back to the Fam Camp. This is the lake we are on.

You can see signs of the recent flooding.

Through the not so clean looking glass.

We drove down past the campground and this is what we saw.

This used to be a road.

Another day to be thankful for.

Nice pics Janet. We love to check out the bases on our travels. That flood water is still kind of high, isn't it? Scarry! Happy Travels! Be safe!
