This weekend was spent with our family at Fiesta Alamo in Boerne. There will be---Sam (?), Theresa (?), Brooke (17), Brittany (15), Samantha (11) and Karen (9) in various pictures. Oh yes, Phebe (age 2) will be in a couple of them. The weekend was really an enjoyable experience. We ALWAYS enjoy watching these kids interact with each other. But first......time to eat. I must add to this narration that we didn't go more than 30 minutes without eating the entire weekend. We are all starving this week. Further down the line, you'll see sign that says it all. This is our halfway point to the campground. We waited for Sam, Theresa, Brittany and Samantha to catch up to us with their car so the eating could begin!!
Filled and ready to hit the road again.
Sam and Brooke looking at something serious. (guess Karen wasn't interested)
Karen gets bored with riding.
That really isn't a pacifier in her mouth.
We made it!!!
We almost missed the entrance. Not good, would have been VERY hard to turn around.
Karen has already checked out the cabin.
Don't know what Theresa is doing but she's intent. The basket of flowers on the table was a welcome to the family. Nice.
Karen is checking out the loft, she's not really in jail.
Pretty girl.
Guess she likes what she sees.
Oooh, Brooke, looks like Sama is giving you what for.
Happy Birthday, Theresa. She had to blow out a propane lighter for her candle.
Time to play with the bubbles. (Every campout has to have some)
Our treeclimber.
Sami jumped up to the branch and I was quick enough (for a change) to catch her in action.
Longlegged Brittany had to have Karen help her down.
All three monkeys in the tree.
Karen telling them to wait for her.
Phebe has to have her time.
Sama Bunny has come!!
I tried REAL hard to get pictures of the girls hunting easter eggs but they were too quick for me. They were everywhere at once.
Checking out their "loot" after the egg hunt.
This is the way Sami "sits" in a chair most of the time.
Theresa and Sami
Theresa and Karen
Theresa and Brittany
Father and daughter.
Suck it in, Sam.
We tried this shot several times before there was success.
We went out for a drive down Scenic Loop Rd. We found this gnarly old tree. All my other picture experiments failed.
And this 57 T-Bird.
And Karen's "cake house" (because it was round and had layers)
We happened upon a festival in Helotes, TX. It's always nice when you get surprises. An old truck outside a restaurant.
This tells us all about the country store. This may have started out a country store but it ended up a honky tonk.
Brooke, Brittany, Karen, Theresa and Samantha.
This top sign is the one that says it all.
Inside the Country Store.
Hey George----
On the backporch of the store.
Out in back of the store.
A passing lady was kind enough to take the picture for us. Thank you.
The bicycle rental place.
Dad protecting his two youngest.
Dad and girls.
Brooke and Brittany with the favorite flower of Brooke and Sama. (daisy) This is the one that the nosy lady told me I was taking wrong.
The street band.
Connie, this one's for you.
"Our Miss Brooke".
Gotta check out the puppies.
Street scene.
Think this belongs to someone in the band.
Sam and Theresa couldn't resist the country band. Dancing in the street!!
Pretty little girls.
About the town.
The Rugged Outdoors is the public restroom.
This smart car looked like it pulled this fifth wheel.
Time to snack again.
Notice how good I am at getting the tops of people's heads.
Let's see who can drop their egg first. (they were using real live eggs)
Go, Papa, Go. Don't drop your egg. The egg race turned into a simple race between all but Papa and Sama. Brittany managed to outrace everyone else with a 12.9 time. You never heard so much encouragement and screaming in all your life.
Deep concentration on dying those eggs. This is a science, you know.
Are they EVER going to be done?
Oh man, this takes
forever!!
My intelligent granddaughters. Wish I was that flexible.
Time to get the car packed. Looks like as much went home as came but I know better. Don't think any of us wanted for food.
Sam's shaving---just in case.
Phebe's ready.
Karen's ready.
It's time to say "Goodbye and I Love You."
This was such a good 3 days. When we weren't outside doing stuff, we were inside playing games. Everyone plays "Pass the love" (at one point all eight of us were playing) and several played Switchboard. Remind me, Connie, you will love this game too.
